being thankful

i've always talked about leaving. you know, leaving penang behind for 'greener pastures'. to study or whatever. i just had to leave, the itch. hehe. and, what with my friends leaving one by one to forge new adventures in new territories; i've been feeling pretty frustrated stuck here and not able to spread my wings.

but then, it just hit me when i saw my dog just a lil while ago. she's already 5 this year... and if i leave for say the next 3 or 4 or even 5 years, she'll be old when i return, that is, if i do. and we all know that dogs' lifespans are not that long. and who knows what might happen to her during that time. i'll never get to cuddle up beside her again, hug that furry, warm body, see her wag her tail off whenever i return home, and even take her for walks even though i usually have to be forced (by my dog... i just can't resist big pleading doggy eyes) to.

*doggy eyes*

my dog doing what se does best.. sleeping. couch potato.

and that got me thinking, about other things too. my family. i guess i should be grateful for the time i have with them. and my mom's home cooked food every weekday. and that i don't have to worry much about how to manage my finances living alone elsewhere, or putting up with bad roomates 24/7, and lack of freedom of opinion at home. all these tings i take for granted now. haha, i can even pck my nose and burp at home without feeling embarrassed.

so right now, i'm being patient... about not leaving yet. i guess i'll get my cance to. and wen the time comes, i don't want to leave this place with feelings of regret. that i didn't fully use my time here.
