some reflection

it's time for some reflection. you know... since the year's coming to an end. well...

in person...
i don't think i've changed much except to be more friendly (i hope), especially to those that i seldom mix with. umm... and i hope i've been less of a snob and more of a caring person. also, i have learnt to look at (some of) my faults and try to correct them, i try. my faults including what i've really been convicted of... my power hunger and my tongue.

materialistically...
i still want stuff. when i go shopping... it just doesn't feel right to not buy anything. but, because of insufficient funds, rest assured i am most definately practising smart consumerisme. and after all my preaching and coaching myself to NOT covet, hell... i'm drooling over almost everything in queensbay. still... like i said, money does matter.

and.... well, thought i've done a few stupid things this year... i've also achieved a few things this year, namely... my driving license (yes, though i still can't drive yet). and one important thing i've learnt, and am still learning.. is to slow down a lil' and take things in it's stride. what's the use of hurrying and pushing to get something? and if shit happens... you've just gotta breathe and pray you don't lose it before tackling it.

you know... when things go wrong and everything seems against you, you really feel God all the more closer to you. i know i do. 2 weeks in a row i bitched about something and for those 2 weeks He understood me, ministered to me and reproved me. i say i won't do it again... but the next day.. i repeat it again. anyway, my point is, God is real. He is.

if this post doesn't sound me me... well... try swallowing something different once in awhile la. this is the more mature me... i hope. lol.

trippin in langkawi

seems like i've come back from one trip to go to another. haha. that's life. anyway, i can't begin to describe this trip so i'll let the pics do the job.i only hope they do justice to the awesome breathtaking sights that i just cleansed my eyes with.

this is at oriental village. and that person there ... is... well, you don't have to know really. anyway, the cable car to get to the peak of some gunung to see more gunungs.

ahh... there. the cable car station at the top. no, this is NOT genting highlands. it is really the top you know, when you get up there.

and the view here is spactacular, no? just look at those mountains. the sights, the air... it just makes you go.. wow! like really just feel so in awe of everything. nothing man-made can ever compare to what God made. it just blows my mind away ya know? everything just seems so insignificant when you've seen the splendour of nature.

the next day. we are umm... island hopping. yes, by boat... how else do you hop from one island to another? and omgosh! the sights... the sights... i have never seen anything as gorgeous as that for a long long time. see my happy face?

ok, those are really not my feet. actually, we're gettin a not-so-free-of-charge massage by the catfish. one of my highlights of this trip. lol. it's really nice lettin the catfishes tickle your toes. i went for it twice! couldn't resist. this was at tasik dayang bunting btw.

see... see... isn't the view just umm... creative?

at the aquarium. penguin feeding time. those lil' birdies are sooooo cute you just wanna hug them and never let go.

on one of the islands. what do we look like we're doing?

oh lookie.... nemo!

so yeah.. that's about it. except for the weather, langkawi really gets my 10 fingers up. i don't have pics of pantai cenang (the happenin place in langkawi) but yeah.. just had to mention it.

trippin part 2

on the 6th...

we went to kl. sat the shuttle bus down from genting. we, hehe, missed the bus that we were actually supposed to sit, and with a lil' persuasion (and looking vry innocent), managed to sit the nxt one without paying extra. but i guess we did pay for our tardiness. the bus driver really thinks he's in initial D or something. the way he drives the bus made the already carsick me almost puke out my buffet breakfast. oh yea, which reminds me, since i was one of the 2 early birds in my group (unbelievable), i got to eat the buffet while the others were still snoring away. lolx.

upon reachin, sat the lrt from gombak to kl sentral and then transit to midvalley. with a lot of help from mf. but now, i'm proud to say, i kinda know my way around ... it ain't that difficult if you know how to get there. we stayed at boulevard which is like,10 times nicer than cititel. for one, the bathroom/toilet is big, and pretty classy... and the place is much roomier than cititel.

ended up shopping (for me, rather reluctantly) at mv. i kinda became everyone's guide cos i've been hangin out there quite a lot of times. it gets pretty boring after awhile. disappointingly, didn't buy as much as i liked to. nothing much happened here. went to watch 007 at midnight and later, went back to bed rather cranky and with aching feet.

7th...
rushed back up to genting to catch our bus back. almost didn't make it because of the freakin long queue at the skyway. so, spent the time people watchin ( another of my many hobbies). saw these group of i'm guessin artsy-limkokwing-modeltype-jap-wannabe guys there who kept camwhoring and holding up the lines.

then, we ran and ran and ran from the skyway station to the bus stop which is like at opposite ends that my legs are startin to ache now. people must've thought we were a bunch of lunatics.

and then, the long long long drive home.

trippin part 1

it's just so amazing. one minute you're struggling to remember your hard-memorized facts and the nxt... you're sitting at home curing your bus-lag . to those who know me, you would know that i went to genting and kl on the night of "freedom" and well.. guess i'm back now. quite a trip i have to say... well, what d you expect when you're travellin with 5 friends and no adults?

so, on the 4th...
we took the 10 something bus to genting from the bus terminal. didn't sleep for practically the whole night... we talked, giggled, laughed, and privately insulted these 2 guys behind us whom we nicknamed "Z" and "J" coz they resembled some ppl we knew in pg. they were so annoying when ppl'r trying to sleep. throughout the whole journey, their convo consisted of

~remixed sexy back blaring loudly from headphones~
J: hey, shaddap la
Z: no YOU shaddup ler.
J: what me? go to sleep la you
Z: can you just shut the f*** up.
J: f***
Z: f***
J: eh, shaddup la.
~lighter flicking...~

reached genting (unfortunately, first world) at about 4 something. oh my, there's nothing better to cure your lack of sleep than fresh (or not so fresh) mountain air. went to get our number for checkin in. waited for almost an hour. then, finally... got our room. i hate 1st world. crime could happen there easily. the place is so huge, there're so many pigeon-hole rooms and the corridors stink of public toilets. but i can't complain, it was really cheap so...

went out to play at about 8 something. we were one of the first... so fun! there was almost no line for every ride. so, basically, we played and played, and played the whole day. oh, went to bed at 3 something in the afternoon, woke up at 5 and went to play again. met Z & J again, once at the boatin area, n another time in the food court.

and then, tragedy! sc lost her phone somewhere between bumper cars and euro train. we think it was pickpocketed. poor girl. went back to search for it, but couldn't find it anymore. and then later, at 11.30pm... snow world! if you haven't been to sw, just think... freezing numb fingers, smelly jackets, extra mittens, fake snow in your clothes, hair, mouth, eyes... it was really fun despite almost freezin my fingers off. went out all wet, sweaty and awake. cold really does wake you up.

we sat the euro train again after that i think. then, my friends wanted to see what was it in the cyber cafe that made guys such suckers for gaming (sry la... if anyone terasa). so, i waited outside while they went peepin over peoples' shoulders and maybe disturbing them a lil'. headed back to our hotel after that. then on the way down the escalator, ew was like " hey, that guy has been following us from the cc" and everyone else was like "where? where? what?" . at that time it didn't register into my head yet, so i just kept on walking cos i was really sleepy already. then later when i actually saw the dude tailing us to the hotel lobby, i really really started freakin out.

we wlaked to the lobby, he hid behind a pillar and peeped at us. my friend saw him duck behind it when she turned. when we sat down on the chairs, he sat behind us. we then discussed-discussed about what to do and then when we saw this group of guys going into the lift... we ran and followed them as if we were from the same group. i think we kinda squashed the people at the back of the lift. it was kinda lawak at the same time. lolx. to see their surprised faces when a group of gals (us) suddenly rush by and squeeze into the lift. hahaha...

we were so scared he would follow us to our room and kill us or something... (hehe... imaginations do run a lil' wild at night) that we ran, yes, ran all the way past smelly corridors to our room.

and that was our 1st day of trippin. eventful, no?

a fact of life: exams

9 down, 2 more to go and still counting.
at this point, the end of 'it' seems so near yet is still unattainable. moral tomorrow and finally... bio on mon. then, that's it. that's it! oh... when i think of all the hours of studying and brain cracking until 3.31pm of 4/12/06 aka last paper for me... i'm just itching all over. just come and get over with it already!

chem must be really really mind-blowing because for some weird coincidence, 3 people (or maybe more) sat at the wrong places in the exam hall. lawak right? they must've been so blur after cramming for lousy chem. how do i know that? well, one of them sits right in front of me and the other one sits right at the back of me. and the 3rd? me. must be a disease.

so, what's so memorable about this once in a lifetime experience (which if i had a choice i would rather forgo but can't)? well... you go into the hall... muttering your hastily memorised formulaes, hoping and praying that this or that won't come out. when you receive your paper and get the a-ok sign from the chief, you start shivering, palms sweating (err... actually, not from the unanswerable questions but from the heat)... and you try to do the questions. but man! what on earth are they getting at? don't understand la. and now, you really start sweating from fright. die la die la... cannot answer... there goes my A.... what to do? what to do? but i guess there's only one thing to do. umm, other than crying aloud and having a fit. finish the paper as best as you can.

things i noticed during exams...

people are so darn kiasu.
of course, that includes me too.

people get sicker during exams.
hmm... that's me too.

no one cares if you pick your nose or scratch your butt during exams.
no, that, i can say is definately NOT me. but no one battered an eyelid when i sneezed (loudly), sniffled and coughed all through add maths, physics and chem.

nothing is more interesting then what's behind you when you've finished your paper and there's nothing to do for the next 15-20 minutes.
well, it's true... no extra paper for me to conteng on.

the lembaga is really making the invigilators work for their salary.
before the start of the paper, we are either given 2 sheets or sometimes no paper(s), yes, even though it's known that we need extra paper to write on. so, it's the JOB of the invigilators to go around giving out 2 miserable sheets of paper everytime someone asks for one. real waste of time for us to have to aask for it i tell you. especially during add maths. BUT, it's real nice to see teachers' having to cater to our demands once i awhile. hehe.

from my scrapbook

morning assembly. saying our final farewells and tq's to our teachers. belle finally got to touch mr joshua's (guy in maroon) hand. *bells chiming* no pun intended. lolx.
clowning around in the field. *sigh* i'll miss the noise pollution and climbing up and down the overhead bridge everyday. see the little bridge behind? i've been using it since my primary days.

sometimes... you can't choose your classmates. but i guess that's the fun of life. i mean, would you have chosen glutton and crazy and cute (who at the moment looks like she smelt something bad) as your classmates??? i really don't wanna point your attention to the red bottle but i guess it deserves equal mention because it's owner kept pushing it under our noses since day 1 of this year. you can't even imagine how annoying a cheap red plastic bottle can get...

what did we learn from 5 years of lab work? nothing memorable studies-wise. but we DID learn how to burn our shirts, spill our experiments (which we were doing about enzymes and saliva... yuck!), get scolded by our teachers for playing truant (hehe), sit under the sun to watch paper burn, never-EVER let your underarm hair be seen (*ahem* not mine.. i don't have u.h.) and umm... E=mc2.... HCl + NaOH = NaCl + H2O.... bla bla bla....

oh btw, these were my lab partners in F1. numbered by the teacher as No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively (whaddya think we are??? criminals?)

one of the many staircases in my tiny, poor school. also the very flight of stairs that ross "breakdanced" on; meaning she tripped and almost fell ala breakdance. i don't know what the 3 weirdo's are thinking of back there but just so you understand their lunaticsm, they claim to be the "biggest" supporters of the blues, Reds (yes! liverpool you rock) and the devils. understando?

my really big extended family (although, we're missing quite a few here). well, i'll be glad to not wear that horrendous apron anymore. that's a comfort.

last freakin day of school

[ in penanglish ( typical exaggerated penangite speak)] with help from me

haiyo... sad la today. it has finally happened... school liao (is over), for me la that is. i came to school thinking... " sure cry one, sure cry one" but mana tahu (instead) it is like one of the most siao (crazy) days ever. walaowei! (exclamation of surprise) everyone went gila (crazy) taking photos here and there. no one cares also that we're running around the whole school like siao lang (insane person). so, i oso mah go here go there to take photo lo. actually hor, nothing much happened also la today... just take a lot of photos, chik-chak here chik-chak there (the sound cameras make, apparently)... quite nice oso la. summore got hug a lot... write autographs a lot... and just acting like siao gina la (crazy kids). then play a few games... wah, syeok (exciting) lo! like std 1 punya (like) kids nya. so lawak (funny)!

then later leh... followed yoong, yap & jules ki chiak (go to eat) at prangin. actually go there to book ticket to genting-kl but then, oso must eat one right? settle booking d (already) then we went to makan (eat). everyone dunno wanna go where... say eat anything. i ask you, got food called "anything" one ar??? so, walk here walk there then end up in secret recipe. i think now my sore throat become 10 times worse because of that *&%%$%#%# pie la. swt! (exclamation of .. umm... can't explain. sry).

then lidat only lo... yoong fetch me balik (back home) then here i am now. habis cerita (end of story).

sick!

unconnected thought:

if a monkey suddenly finds that he likes to eat... say... fish. then, who are the other monkeys to tell him that monkeys don't eat fish?? technically, they can't force him to eat bananas (or whatever it is that monkeys eat these days).. i mean HELLO... it's his business what he wants to eat right??? no one and i mean NO ONE can force him to eat bananas just because monkeys are SUPPOSED to eat bananas. that's just wrong.

and btw... i'm not talking abt me for once.

well... on monday night, i had this irritatation in my throat. man, was it so darn irritating. so, ended up coughing pretty much the whole night. and woke up the next day to.... (i so hate this) a sore throat. so anyway, i went to school because i planned to and also because i didn't tell pris i wasn't going. and after recess... i was pretty much not functioning anymore. the only thing i could do was put my head on the desk to rest my poor boiling head. and the minutes couldn't tick by any s~l~o~w~e~r.

i think i'm quite a bad patient when i'm sick. the whole world that already revolves around me (or so i think) revolves around me MORE. hehe. well, when i'm sick, i'm sick. what can i do about that?? hey, at least i don't complain or grumble alright...

so, for now... no more ice-cream (dang, and they just bought 2 tubs of baskin robbins), chocs... no more junk food...., fast food, fried food, cold stuffs, hot stuffs, umm... what else? i think that's enough, otherwise i'll be eating air and making my own food. airsynthesys. just hope my suffering ends soon... but good thing my fever's gone. and i'm so perky today i could just eat my shoes! okay... maybe just maybe, the heat did fry my common sense just a teeny lil' bit.

i'm not hungry, i'm not hungry, i'm.... *burp* oops!

of studying and marriage

nothing much to report nowadays. most of the time, i'm either studying, trying to study, not succeeding to study or doing revision. yeah, what a wonderful fulfilled life we're living.

studying is illegal here

anyway, while NOT on the subject of studying... gosh, i hate spm... can you imagine getting married after spm?? yup.. all black tie white dress of it. imagine:

a: hey, what are you doing after spm?
b: getting married. we're engaged. *flashes 20 carat diamond ring*
a: oh okay....
( btw, "a" and "b" are entirely ficticious, not connected to any living or dead homo sapiens whatsoever)

like wow! marriage... i mean, for me, life's only starting but for them.... it's the 3rd phase of life. keeping house, having kids... husband... whoa! too much man! enough enough.

a day in the life of denise the housewife (purely fictional! i'm quite single i assure you.)

denise wakes up to the smell of ... oh crap! dirty diapers. *fill in with any bad word* the lazy husband forgot to change the baby .... again. denise groans and turns over to sleep again. unfortunately, utt jr and denise jr runs in the room pulling each others hair out again. after screaming and threatening to lock both up in the toilet with no food and water forever(with minor wrestling) for 10 full minutes, denise has had enough. time to get up... and oops!! tripped over the remote controlled car outside the door. grrr.... whoever did this is so gonna pay.

moving on, denise switches on the light and realises *darn it* electricity bill not paid yet. oh great. just great. she passes out shortly after seeing the dishes in the sink piled high to the ceiling and the dog's vomit in the house.......... ???? why on earth am i writing all this anyway? it's giving me nightmares already.

but of course... it's only a fragment from my crappy mind. pay no heed. and of course i wanna get married someday. but just not now. i'm gonna enjoy my youth and freedom as much as i can before saying the big " I DO ". know what i mean? besides i can't just be the trophy wife or worse... the maid of all work. if you wanna marry me, you've gotta treat me like an equal, a partner, a soulmate. anyway... why delve into this now??? i'm still so young... and.... ok, i'm going to stop right now. finito.
