day 1- Sydney

reached sydney airport at about 11am approx (2 hours behind schedule). my gosh... what a bad bad flight. i was air sick (almost, but did not puke), and i'm NEVER air sick.

rushed to our first stop; sydney fish market for lunch. seriously, if you're expecting wet floors and smelly fishes like our pasar back home, it's totally different. i mean, yeah, you do smell the faint seafood smell but mostly it's very dry and clean. they have these huge counters selling all kinds of seafood and u can just pick something you like, mr lobster, and ask the person to cook it for you on the spot. fast lunch. most people who go there do that, and they buy a bottle of wine and some bread and picnic there. so cool, and cheap too.

after that, went around sydney city... nice place though it looked a bit gloomy cos of the rain. it almost never rains there but guess we were the vips, haha. most of the older buildings there are made of sandstone, woth carvings so it looks pretty imposing.

then went on a ferry ride. captain cook's ferry (or whatever the name is) to look at the sights from the harbour. they have 2 harbours, darling and sydney harbour (i personally like darling better). so they took us to see the sydney harbour bridge and the sydney opera house (standard sydney sights) from the sea.

later at night, we walked around chinatown. our hotel is just a road away from it. very near. chinatown is... pretty happening at night (everywhere else closes at 5) but also kinda scary. i mean, it just looks like the place where you'll get mugged at night.
