the thing about music

an hour more to lunch.. i'm starving.





i guess most people like music so much because it kinda brings us to an elevated state. you know, when the music gets to you so much that you can't do anything but feel your heart ache out of the beauty of it. usually happens to me when i listen to emo or christian music. sometimes, i can't help it but to just cry when it gets too much. haha... my soul is so moved by it. i like music. and i love making music too.



i never realised it, but music is like so important. what would movies be without backing music? they convey emotions, time and space as effectively as body language. which is so cool when you think of it.



also, in terms of worship; the music we sing and play is created by God so we can get closer to him, and of course, the main purpose: to worship. i don't know how to fully explain it, but really, the heart and soul you put into the music that you make or listen to or participate in just kinda brings you to another level. like nothing else matters; just you, God and the music. i guess that's what i mean by an elevated state.



in secular terms... what do you usually do when you're in a car? turn on the radio or your cd player or wtv. and i'm usually surrounded by music when i'm at home and now that i've got my precious phone, wherever i go too (i listen to music when i'm bored). and dance, yeah, dance! how could you dance without music? music kinda loosens people up, bridges gaps and brings people together. or so i've discovered.



o yea, but like what lionel said, music being what it is... does effect people's emotions acutely. like, people who frequently listen to angry music really do find themselves emulating the music they listen too. and lovers of emo, lovesongs might get a lil too emo for their own good (like yours truly, haha. i admit i'm a sucker for lovesongs). so, everything in moderation la folks. man, does it sound like i'm preaching now or what? ok, shall stop.



ok yeah, so by now i think i've exausted everything there is to say about music... that is, what i have to say about it. actually, it's a pretty pointless post but i'm just killing time while waiting for youtube to load a clip.
