think green

hello.
yeah i'm still alive.

today's world environment day you know...
i don't know what's gotten into me, but i'm going to do my share to help it.

really!

i mean, hearing of global warming, animal extinctions, sungai pinang... doesn't it scare you?
you're gonna live a very uncomfortable WARM existence if you don't do something.

hey i know i'm not the world's most green person. okla, i hardly pass the green category at all considering all things (i have 2 fridges).

but reformed denise is here ok!

from now on, i'm gonna recycle, use less energy (electricity la...), try not to use plastic bags when i shop. oh, and i'm still working on this... bringing containers when buying takeout. it's the least i can do.

so far, i roped in my mom into this lil project cos she's all for conserving and preserving too. which is good. at least 2 can do more than 1. anyway, if my little contribution will help a bit, then what the heck, i'm all for it.

i am going to do it. so, remind me if i forget.

as for you, you can choose to laugh at me, or you can join me.
it doesn't matter.

if the ants can do it, you can too!

getting the hang of love

Love is not getting, but giving...

Not a wild dream of pleasure and a madness of desire.

It is goodness and honor and peace and pure living.

success! yea crappy title i know

.

I is Happy
[insert smiley here]

radio production second assignment was a success. all the pek chek-ness and sacrifices were worth it. i'm glad. it's a nice feeling to be praised for a job well done. and honestly, i haven't been hearing that in ages. sometimes, a person just likes to be praised and appreciated ya know...
dj-ing is pretty fun. i like... for now.

i's happy

sick sick sick sick sick of people.
i don't want to make new friends.
so sorry. if you're new, i don't wanna know you.
come to think of it... i don't mind making friends. just don't ask me to trust.

*
too bad. trust is sacred.
i'll only save that for my dearest and closest now.
*

please don't try to define me, or judge me... or analyse me. i'm not some mystical object you can label and classify. i'm complex, and difficult. you know what? i actually like being naive. at least then i don't get to see the 'wonders' of the world.

i'm not emo.

really really really really.

please la, like i wanna waste my time being emo on this.
*speck of microscopic dust*

oh and if you were wondering... i love my hottie and he loves me. no problems there. so really, you don't have to ask him what went wrong. cos we're absolutely fine. it's not about us anyway.

*really big wide genuine smile* .

i'm not being sarcastic.

happy

yes this is a boring blog whose owner doesn't bother to update all the time.

i refuse to bitch about my assignments.
i refuse to bitch about my lack of sleep (so i need lots of sleep to function. and your problem is...?)
i refuse to bitch about my tiredness.
or my moods.

yes i do have a mountain of neverending work.
yes i'm tired
yes i want to sleep more

but...

actually i'm fine.
haha.

1 week of hols next week. YES! and
i'm going for hillsong UNITED's concert!!!
*happy*

i don't know?

ok. so i really really should post something up.
thing is... i really don't know what.
then i realised- i really do not know lots of things.

like why do we work during vacations, and dream about vacations when we work?

or why we look forward to rainy days when it's hot and sunny, and then complain about the rain when it finally does?

why does the thing you've been wanting so very badly lose its appeal once you've got it?

why do we disregard something when we have it but miss it when it goes away?

why is it so easy to advice but so hard to be adviced?

if the grass is greener on the other side, why are we in such a hurry to go someplace else once we get there?

hmm... don't get me wrong. i'm not judging or finger-pointing at anyone. i'm just wondering... cos i struggle with these too. and these are just some questions i've been mulling over in my head these few days.

i realised that i haven't been out in the fresh air for some time. i haven't just sat on the grass just because. everyday i have something to do, some agenda to follow, deadlines to meet, people to please... again, don't get me wrong; i'm not here to complain, merely to state. everything in life is a tradeoff. everything is a choice. you trade your time for A in order to make time for B. simple economics of life.

as for me... i'm trading time spent listening to the soft crashing of waves, to "make something of myself " in life. sometimes you just gotta wonder... is it all worth it?

i don't know.

i guess i never will. what are my priorities? God, myself, my family, him, my friends... how does life fit in everything?

i don't know.

but what i would like is just one day of not planning, preparing, stressing, worrying... no appointments

just one day where i can be myself, just go with the flow. let me sit for as long as i want. close my eyes and breathe in deeply and just think... how great life is, and how thankful i am to be alive.

.
.
.
just one day.

movie'd

so what goes into making a movie?

step 1: planning the movie. that includes writing the story, planning the shots, storyboard (which i didn't do. shhh) and finding talents (actors).

step 2: shooting the movie.

step 3: editing.

for the past few weeks, i've been stressing about ideas and stuff for my movie. oh did i mention that i have to do a 70 sec movie plus 10 secs of opening credits and end. so altogether... 80 secs? i have to say, it was kinda a challenge for me because i was so stressed and tired from all my classes and lack of sleep. and last week was the lowest... i got moody and depressed and discouraged.

and funnily, the turning point came when i lost my planner. basically everything that i need for col is in there. including my production notes that i spent a whole night working on. i had 2 options:

a) get hysterical, start pulling my hair and crying in the middle of the streets

or

b) in everything give thanks.

so since i still treasure my hair (i know it's not very nice now but you don't need to tell me that), "in everything give thanks, in everything.. oh God... why me?... nono must give thanks, in everything give thanks...in everything...."

and that was step 1.

so, story settled and my actors secured... i moved on to shooting.
i got a jap tourist and a hot lecturer to act for me.

haha.

that's my snatch thief

pretty picture. maybe my col would like to BUY this to put into their next brochure?

shooting was also kinda tough for me cos before this, i had no experience whatsoever in movie making ever. so i'm like, a total noob in this. so i really really hope i didn't screw this up. hopefully.

it's been so long since i've blogged i think i've just lost my flow.

anyway... here's where i need help. you see... i need this software, adobe premier pro (at least a 1.5) for editing. so i went with mel, my tech sifu to buy it.

yeah it's jack sparrowed.

but when we opened it expecting adobe cs3... lol! what we saw was burger island, hard rock casino, pinball... burger island

so if anybody has the cd or can get me the program... i'd be so so so grateful to you. cos i don't really have much time left.

acknowledgements:

1. God. i don't know how i would've gotten through each day without Him.

2. to my hottie for the brilliant ideas... and for putting up with my grey skies... and also for the wonderful pics and for being a convincing snatch thief.

3. to prissy and melv for acting... you guys were awesome! and also thanks for helping me out as well.

4 also, my parents for giving me ideas too... and loads and loads of funds for this project. broadcasting is expensive.

aww this feels like an oscar moment.... (okok... i can feel lots of eye-rolling at the moment)

but despite everything... i had fun. it's been an experience and at least i'm learning right?
